MADELYN LAHEY

Madelyn Elisa Lahey was born in Tasmania, Australia in 1999. She always had a passion for writing and a gifted imagination which she used as a child, writing short stories and creating a lot of interesting characters. 

She has a love for the paranormal and things that go bump in the night. She loved collecting books and reading through RL Stine’s Goosebumps series. One of her favourites being “Welcome to Dead House”. Her official love for horror came when she was 17 and watched The Conjuring 2, as well as her love for books when she first read The Green Mile and started to devour Stephen King.

She’s often struggled with self-confidence, belief in herself, social anxiety and tends to find solace in the worlds authors have created in books. Writing helps her mental health and blocks out the negativity in her life. It helps her escape the anguish and she loves to find out more about the characters she creates. She gets excited with their journeys.

She wrote her first novel, Mortuus Carnem when she was 18, which she wrote in 6 months and spent another 3 years editing it. In the sequel to Mortuus Carnem she created a character just to kill him off, unfortunately as she was writing she discovered she liked this character, so was a bit upset to have to kill him.

Madelyn has the talent to create a variety of genres, paranormal horror, fantasy, children’s books and drama. She hopes to build her audience and establish herself as a known author.
